Cancer Bats might have missed their chance to pop their Main Stage cherry at Download Festival 2012 (cheers for that, British weather), but Leeds Festival 2012 was a different story. In front of the joint-biggest crowd of their career (tied with Leeds’ sister-festival, Reading, of course), Liam Cormier and co. smashed it. Lucky for us, our man Gobinder Jhitta was on hand to document their victory with his camera – and he did so from onstage.

With Reading and Leeds Festivals over and done with, the UK summer festival season is officially over. Well, it’s over as far as we’re concerned. Festival Republic have tonight officially confirmed the first batch of 41 names playing their flagship festivals – Reading & Leeds Festivals. Although their arguably the UK’s biggest festivals taking place in 2012 (since Glastonbury is taking a year off), admittedly most of these names will be of little or no interest to the majority of our readers here at Thrash Hits, but there are a few heavier highlights in among the indie-fodder.
