This week on the podcast, Raz and Hugh talk through the fancy new changes that we’ve made to the site (we’re pretty proud of it FYI), as well as giving the lowdown on our team-up with Songkick Detour (help us bring American Nightmare, SikTh, and a load of other awesome bands to London!), as well as talking about the only news story that’s mattered over the last week – Tim Lambesis of As I Lay Dying being arrested and charged with attempting to hire a hitman to murder his estranged wife.

Kyuss Lives! is one of those projects that has been divisive right from the off – something we’ve made no bones about here at Thrash Hits. Despite inital reports that he was okay with the project, things got even more controversial back in March, when Josh Homme, former guitarist with Kyuss, filed a lawsuit alleging trademark infringement, misrepresentation, and a whole heap else besides. We caught up with Brant Bjork (that’s him in the hat up above), the band’s drummer and principle Kyuss songwriter after Homme, to talk about what’s really going on both in – and out – of the courtroom when it comes to all things Kyuss.

Kyuss Lives!…but for how much longer? Josh Homme files lawsuit against former bandmates

Uh-oh. Remember when John Garcia and Brant Bjork announced their plans to tour the world under the Kyuss Lives! moniker, playing songs written when they were both members of Kyuss? They even recruited Nick Oliveri on bass (until he, err, decided to take on an LA SWAT team in that is) on bass to make it seem even more legit.

Well, news has arisen today that Josh Homme, the only absentee member of the classic Kyuss line-up not included in Kyuss Lives!, and Scott Reeder, the Kyuss bassst who KL! recruited after Nick Oliveri…err…decided to pick a fight with an entire LA SWAT team, have filed a lawsuit against their former Kyuss bandmates alleging trademark infringement, misrepresentation, and a whole heap else besides. Oo-er!
