You want to win a copy of HIM’s latest album, Tears On Tape, don’t you? Well, take a photo of yourself in some HIM merch (any HIM merch) and post it on Twitter and/or Instagram. Make sure you tag it with #ThrashHIM so we can find it and you’re already following our Twitter and Instagram, right?

After almost five years, we’ve finally re-designed ThrashHits.com. We think it looks a bit better than before. Hopefully it’ll make your time on the site, reading about our and your favourite bands, a whole load better. Here’s a run-down of all the new things that you can find on Thrash Hits…

Hatebreed are one of the most consistently excellent live bands around. They always have been and probably always will be so we headed down to the first properly sweaty gig of the year to see Jamey Jasta growling his way through some hardcore anthems.
Pre-gig meal: Chilango. Grilled chicken burrito with black beans, hot and mild salsa, lettuce. No cheese or sour cream, please.
6 things we learnt watching Hatebreed again…

It’s the way bands make a lot of their money. It’s a way of proudly displaying that you like a band. It’s a piece of clothing that every right-thinking person owns at least one of. Yeah, the humble band t-shirt. I have two deep drawers full of the damned things. Six of which have Every Time I Die emblazoned upon them. Here’s a crap story about how I came to own them all…
1) November 2005: Eagle
Props: Puffin, fierceness due to “UNITED WE ROCK” mantra on t-shirt

You must have heard that Give Up The Ghost né American Nightmare reformed for two shows in the USA late in 2011, right? Maybe not. . It was a very exciting announcement, by all accounts. AN/GUTG are one of the seminal hardcore bands of the past decade and if you’ve never heard about them, here’s Tom Doyle telling you why and how you should and could.
Luckily, our man on the ground on the Eastern Seaboard, or whatever those Yanks call the Greater New York area (maybe that?) was there. Yeah, Dan Pelic went to the show in Revere, Massachusetts and he actually saw Ryan Gosling. He also saw American Nightmare or Give Up The Ghost or whatever you want to call them. He didn’t make a funny Tumblr about either thing but has written a review telling it how it is…

Christmas is done with but Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day are almost here, which is why cardxcore is the tattoo-art-oriented greetings card company you need to know about. This collection of “Cards That Don’t Suck” is the brainchild of Gallows bassist, Stu Gili-Ross, so we asked him all about it…
“I was in California with my fiancee taking some time off from Gallows after Warped Tour 2009 and we were trying to think of something cool to do for our engagement party invitations. We soon realized that unless you wanted to spend quite a lot of money on something entirely bespoke and tailor-made, there was nothing really widely available that didn’t completely suck!

We’re big fans of Night Is The New Day, the new album from those Swedish doom merchants Katatonia – we did give it 5 out of 6 in our review earlier this week, after all. So we’re plenty pleased that the band has given us a couple of signed copies of the album to give away to some lucky readers of ours.
