Is there anything better than a Thrash Hits Festival Splash Page? Yeah, loads of things but you won’t find the best online festival coverage on any of them. You’ll find that right here.

All our work from Sonisphere Festival 2011 is going be linked to from this page (eventually), so give it a bookmark or just don’t close it, because it’s all you’re going to need. Individual band coverage (interviews, photos, setlists and some tiny reviews), rumours, drinking games, stage times, dodgy photos of as many sexy ladies in various states of safe-for-work undress as we can legitimately get away with? It’s all here.

Future Hits 084: Whitemare

Thrash Hits Verdict:
Sometimes with all the sub-genres and the effort put in, it’s nice to just shove on a bit of balls-to-the-wall hard rock. It’s music that, once you’ve finished getting down to it, makes you hope that that wall was painted. Otherwise, you’ll have sore balls. Whitemare don’t seem to write long songs which is good for people with short attention sp

Top 10s of 2010: Our Contributors (Part 1)

December 14th, 2010

Top 10s of 2010 Banner-1 Thrash Hits

It’s that time of year again – 2010 is coming to a close, and we’re left looking back on what’s been another fantastic 12 months in the world of heavy music. Over the past few weeks, we’ve harassed our contributors into making some tough choices – no doubt shedding a few tears along the way – and whittling down 2010’s releases into their own personal Top 10 favourite records put out over the year gone by.

How do you make Lemmy cry? “Make him unable to play music, I would imagine.”

December 4th, 2009

A couple of weeks ago, you might’ve heard that cover of Lemmy singing a cover of ‘Stand By Me’ with Dave Lombardo on drum duties. For the first ever Motorhead/Slayer collaboration, it was a bit of WTF-moment to be honest. So we tracked down Baron, the producer somewhat responsible, to get some answers. That’s him up there on the right.

The Month In Metal: July

July 1st, 2009

Are we really half way through 2009 already? Apparently so. Feeling confused about the six months just gone, and the six left to go? Thrash Hits is here to guide you – well, through the next four weeks, at least.

For those of you lucky enought to live alongside Thrash Hits in London town, tonight sees the launch of Someone’s Yelling Fire, a new punk/hardcore/metal/screamo/emo night at the recently-reopened Highbury Garage. Get there early enough and you’ll be able to catch live sets from The Xcerts, Save Your Breath and Flood of Red. Get their later, and you get to see Thrash Hits staffers collapse at the bar following an excess of beers. Double trouble! And just a fiver to boot.

by Joel McIver

A new year, a new Motörhead album: it’s almost as if Lemmy is trying to make the most of the five or so years left to him on the live circuit before an inevitable retirement made up of the occasional charity gig and magazine awards ceremonies.

Refreshingly, Motörizer is no better or worse than Inferno, Hammered, We Are Motörhead or any other recent Motörhead album released over the last decade.

Motörhead are to release their 24th album, Motörizer on 1 September 2008 through SPV.

There are 11 tracks (see below for tracklisting) and both drummer Mikkey Dee and legendary frontman Lemmy Kilmister have been gushing about it saying it’s “kick-ass” and “another great album” respectively.

Lemmy also reckons we should each buy three copies. One for the car, one for the living room and… one for the bedroom?

Motörhead will be heading out on a 15-date tour with the mighty Saxon and Danko Jones this November. If you bring ear plugs remember: If it’s too loud, you’re too old and Motörhead have been going for 33 years. Learn from them!
