Andrew W.K. is something of a living legend. After he told us all about movies in 2010 and 2011, there was little chance of NOT going to follow him around the UK. We went to see him in London and then we went to see him in Manchester, where Gary Wolstenholme took some cool photos of the ‘Party Hard’ god. Whilst reading this review, you ought to listen to I Get Wet. It’s the right thing to do.

Interview: Cerebral Bore on finding inspiration from everything from funny farts to good burgers

Last week you’ll have no doubt read us urging you to go check out ‘Horrendous Acts of Iniquity’, the brand new track from three-quarters-Scottish-one-quarter-Dutch gore-minded upstarts, Cerebral Bore. And if you read any of the words that were alongside the bowel-threateningly aggressive death metal, you’ll know that this isn’t a cut off a forthcoming album or even an EP, but as a single. A single? Yes, and a non-album single at that. People still do those, apparently.

Yesterday, Rolo Tomassi treated us to the first taste of their as-yet-untitled upcoming third studio album, in the form of new single, ‘Old Mystics’. It’s the first new music we’ve heard from the band (as opposed to the previously unreleased demos and the like on Eternal Youth) in nearly two years, so we were pretty damned excited to hear it.

There’s a new Cancer Bats song – ‘Old Blood’ sounds like Kvelertak :)

January 3rd, 2012

You know that our favourite Canadians, Cancer Bats are back, back, BACK in 2012 with a new album, Dead Set On Living (which will be released on 16 April 2012 and will be excellent) and they’ll be playing at least one gig at London’s Highbury Garage on Saturday, 21 April 2012 but now a new song of theirs, ‘Old Blood’ has popped up on YouTube. Good.
