Oh look. Another reunited band from the 1990s. The difference with this one is that Vision of Disorder have been back for a few years now, their popularity hasn’t had a mysterious retrospective inflation (they’re playing the 500-capacity Underworld in London, Refused played the 2500-capacity Forum) and aren’t one of those bands all of their successors in the hardcore scene name-check in every interview, despite how influential they’ve actually been. Which is daft, because VoD were fucking great first time around, and they’ve come back with an arse-booting record.

It’s all gone a bit awry for Biohazard recently. In the summer, they split with Evan Seinfeld (singer, bass player, porn star, and the one member of the band you’d be most likely to recognise in the pub) right on the eve of Download Festival 2011. Their first album in nearly seven years was, however, recorded with Seinfeld, so whatever happens from here on in, you’d expect them to be on form, right?

Album: Sick Of It All – Nonstop

November 28th, 2011

Sick Of It All
Century Media

by Alex Andrews

This is a strange one. To celebrate their 25th anniversary, Sick Of It All have decided to compile 20 career-spanning “hits” together on one disk. Only the New York hardcore veterans have gone back and re-recorded them all with the benefits of modern technology and a Danish metal producer behind the helm. Stranger still is that the band’s 1997 classic ‘Good Looking Out’ fails to make the cut whilst ‘Step Down’ – quite clearly the band’s finest moment, as anyone who remembers the P-Rock TV channel will testify – suffers from the same fate.
