The triple threat of Motionless in White, The Defiled and Glamour of the Kill might give some people nightmares about bad haircuts and too much make-up, but for others it’s a goth-fuelled dream. Those people were all in Kentish Town watching the gig with Gavin Lloyd, who’s also bang up for dreaming about goths. And then writing about them.

Can you believe it’ s been twelve years since Rob Zombie last performed in the UK? Just think in that space of time Machine Head went a bit shit and got good again, nu-metal died and came back, and Gary Glitter got caught being naughty abroad. Songs like ‘Dragula’ and ‘Superbeast’ are now 13 years old. Gosh that makes us feel ancient. With Joey Jordison back behind the kit, we knew this sold-out show was going to be too good to miss.

With Ozzy Osbourne bringing his new six-stringer to London for the first time, it made sense for use to send our residient guitar geek, Amit Sharma, to see if Gus G is up to the task of replacing Zakk Wylde.
With Ozzy Osbourne’s newest effort, Scream, hailed as one of his best in recent years, or at least as a step back towards a harder rock edge, tickets for this mini-tour of smallish venues went pretty quick. Zakk or no Zakk, this tour would be the perfect opportunity to catch the Prince of Fucking Darkness in an intimate setting. What made tonight even sweeter was that it was part of this year’s iTunes Festival, therefore free if you won a ticket.

Some 12 years since the flaming wheels of the Dragula peeled out of the Hellbilly Deluxe gas station, Rob Zombie returns to top form with an album title to envy most post-hardcore bands: Hellbilly Deluxe II: Noble Jackals, Penny Dreadfuls and the Systematic Dehumanization of Cool, or from here on in just HD2.

With this feature, we give you a heads-up as to what’s around the corner (apart from album releases) that Thrash Hits readers might wanna wrap their earlobes around…
