Life must be hard for Dave Grohl. He must wake up and have no idea what to do with himself. Jam with John Paul Jones? Beer with Lemmy? Smoke a fattie with Josh Homme? Poor sod. Having one of the most impressive CVs in rock ‘n’ roll must be hard. People expect a lot, like great albums – something which Foo Fighters have failed to deliver for the past decade. Don’t get me wrong, the singles have been good but the albums as a whole have been lacking since 1999’s There Is Nothing Left To Lose.

Regardless, there are moments in your life when you hear about a gig and instantly know that you cannot miss it for the world. We felt like this when Kiss played Islington Academy last year, so when news broke of Foo Fighters playing a secret show at Camden Dingwalls, we knew we had to be there. Whatever it takes. Right?

Live: KISS @ Islington Academy, London – Tuesday, 02 March 2010

March 4th, 2010

What’s that you say? KISS? Playing to less than 800 people in London? Yep, and there was absolutely no way local longhair, Amit Sharma was going to miss the even that will one day be known as… KISSLINGTON.

When you think of seeing Kiss live, you probably envision four hairy men coated in make-up, singing songs about love and rock ‘n’ roll on a large arena stage. What you don’t expect is an ultra-intimate show at a venue you would normally go to see your mate’s band support some obscure European metallers with an indecipherable logo.

It’s hardly surprising that the 500 tickets available were snapped up within 60 seconds of being on sale and some ended up on eBay for stupid money. Im sure some die-hards out there wouldn’t have thought twice about splashing up to half a grand on seeing such a cult band in this surreal setting. You wouldn’t get this with Feeder now, would you?

A Metallica insider has suggested that the thrash metal legends are set to play London’s Matter club (updated) on 15 September 2008.

Since revealing the date last week, there has been much conjecture as to where the London club show’s exact location would be. Many had hoped that it would it be at the Astoria or Kentish Town Forum but apparently it will be at London’s new clubMatter, inside The O2 Arena.

Could it be true? Does it Matter?

Death Magnetic will be released on 12 September 2008.
