This is the seventh album from the New Yorkers and Anonymous threatens to take Stray From The Path to the forefront of their scene. From the first memorable refrain in ‘False Flag’ of, “F. E. A. Are you listening,” Andrew Dijorio spits various lyrics detailing the entire gamut of anti-establishment-oriented views with righteous punk fury. The next song is called ‘Badge & A Bullet’. You get the vibe and it’s as convincing a political statement as you’re going to hear this year.

Anybody, and I mean ANYBODY who starts a breakdown with a shout of “MOVE!” is a pretty silly boy as far as I’m concerned, but if I’m completely honest, it’s that moment during ‘This is More’ on Stick To Your Guns‘ first album that had stuck in my mind regarding his band before I slapped The Hope Division on for the first time.

Every Time I Die write to Axl Rose & Guns N’ Roses

November 4th, 2008

Every Time I Die

Every Time I Die are about to embark upon their very first headline tour of their cracking latest album, The Big Dirty but they reckon Axl’s stealing their thunder.

They wrote him a letter.

guns n roses chinese democracy album cover packshot artwork thrash hits

“Thanks a shitload Axl. You haven’t put out a GNR record in 10 years and the month we decide to go out on a tour cleverly named NOVEMBER REIGN, you find it prime time for “Chinese Democracy” to hit shelves. You couldn’t have waited another 3 weeks? We haven’t done a single headlining tour on “The Big Dirty” so this was a really big deal for us. You should have seen Josh’s face light up when he thought of the name. The guys in THE BRONX and STICK TO YOU GUNS (sic) were happier than pigs in shit to be a part of this epic journey across the east coast. But you just couldn’t stand to see us happy.

Buckethead probably wouldn’t have stolen our thunder. And when I met Matt Sorum at House of Guitars like 16 years ago, he came off as a real nice dude who would be glad to let us have November to ourselves. Well fuck it, we’re doing it anyways. Starting November 1st, we’re going to Quebec City! and then we’re going to Milwaukee! And then we’re going to JOPLIN AND NASHVILLE AND RICHMOND AND THEN WE’RE GOING TO FARMINGDALE TO TAKE BACK THE CRAZY DONKEY!!! BEYYYYYAAAWWW!!!!!

love every time i die.

ps. you rock.”

The question we’re asking ourselves at Thrash Hits .com is, “Do Guns N’ Roses rock? Do they? Really?”

We’re sure you’ve heard the title track from Chinese Democracy on the radio already. We reckon it sounds like ‘I Believe In A Thing Called Love’ by The Darkness done by Marilyn Manson? What the hell happened???

Watch the video to ‘I Believe In A Thing Called Love’ by The Darkness

Chinese Democracy by Guns N’ Roses is released on 23 or 24 November 2008 depending on where you live
