Just as My Ruin were due to go in to the studio to record their latest album, Throat Full of Heart, vocalist Tairrie B was involved in a very serious car accident that almost lost her her arm and her life.

Having undergone both a skin graft, and a long, slow healing process, the recording finally commenced, and it was after this that the album took on a whole new level of meaning for the band.

Over the years My Ruin have brought various new aspects to the genre known as ‘metal’, challenging what has been and what is to come in one fell swoop. Combining Tairrie’s roots in rap and hip-hop with the influence of spoken word style pieces of Lydia Lunch, the band have amalgamated these genres and created a new breed of metal.
