We first wrote about Yards almost a year ago and we wrote that about six months after we realised they were well good. Yes, you might think that we like to keep things from you but we actually really like telling you about our favourite new sounds. With two members from two of our favourite bands (The Ghost of a Thousand and Astrohenge), it is not surprising that we like Yards. The good news is that the Brighton/London hardcore quartet have released their second EP and it’s called EP2.

Live & Photos: One Unique Signal, Shapes + Bastions @ London Bermondsey Biscuit Factory – 04 June 2012
June 20th, 2012
Before Download Festival all kicked off, we headed down to an old Biscuit Factory in South London to watch a bunch of experimental hardcore bands in a handmade wooden box. This is what we do for fun around here. Hugh Platt took care of the words; Shaziya Niamh was in charge of the photos.
Six things we learned from watching experimental hardcore in an old Biscuit Factory in South London:

The Ghost Of A Thousand have decided to call it a day. They’ve been one of our favourite bands over the past few years. They will always be one of the finest. We will miss them.

The Ghost of a Thousand are one of the UK’s finest bands of the past decade. They’re making a documentary. It’s directed by Ryan Mackfall and will come out in 2011. This isn’t news but we watched the trailer again today and thought you should too.
Thrash Hits presented The Ghost of a Thousand, Turbowolf, Bastions + Japanese Voyeurs @ London Old Blue Last – 07 January 2010
January 13th, 2011
It happened. The first ever Thrash Hits presents… went off with a massive, sweaty bang in east London’s Old Blue Last. If you weren’t there, you not only missed out on one of the best gigs of 2011 but you didn’t get hit in the face with a camera in the moshpit like we did.

Ho, Ho, Hobags. Yeah, that’s not the turkey we’re actually talking about here. That’s a country up there; a country that you never really think about bordering Iran and Georgia or being named after a fat, ugly bird, yet still does and is.
We’re actually talking about the fat, ugly bird itself. We’ve been talking about said bird for the past few weeks. In fact, we’ve been asking loads of bands whether they prefer Leg Or Breast in our annual Season’s Bleedings (hence the funny title, yeah?) and the results are in. Oh god, they’re in.

We are dead proud to announce that the inaugural (and probably last ever) Thrash Hits presents… gig will feature a headline set from The Ghost of a Thousand! Support comes from mighty West Country tyrants, Turbowolf and plucky Welshmen, Bastions but there’s definitely going to be one more. Ooh, the suspense.
